2005 SPECIAL TEAMS
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Joe Butcher
The
"X-Factor" is what his teammates refer to him.
Opposing teams refer to him as their nightmare.
Why? Because all he does is score touchdowns.
18 of
them in 2005 to be exact.
Joe Butcher,
who was also a Team Captain, led the Warriors in
receiving in 2005 averaging 14.4 yards per reception
and caught 14 touchdown passes. Butcher was also
responsible for a majority of the Warriors kick
returning duties. He returned 4 punts for
touchdowns which led the MLFA.
In only his
second season with the Warriors, the receiver from
Defiance High School has proven to be a go-to-guy when
the team needs that big play. Head Coach John
Parkins said Butcher has hands of glue, simply because
if the ball hits his hands it's not going anywhere
else.
