GAME REVIEW

WARRIORS RACK UP
THE YARDS
Jeremy Bott
scores four touchdowns in Warriors' rout

– ADA
- Many coaches want their players to strive for
perfection.
Maybe that was why several Lima Warriors football
players stayed after their 68-0 shellacking of the
West Ohio Wranglers on Saturday to do some extra
push-ups.
The Warriors (2-0) completely dominated the game on
both sides of the ball en route to their second
consecutive victory to start the season.
Warriors head coach John Parkins said it was a
total team performance.
“It was an awesome performance, all the way across
the board,” Parkins said. “Look out here — they’re not
done. The coaches make them do push-ups because of
mistakes. We don’t settle for anything less.”
On offense, the Warriors rolled up 453 total yards
(364 rushing, 89 passing) and recorded 19 first downs.
On defense, the Warriors stymied the Wrangler
offense, holding it to seven yards of total offense.
Elida product Jeremy Bott led the Warrior offense
with four touchdowns. Bott rushed for 88 yards and two
TDs and caught two passes for the other two scores.
His twin brother, Jason, played a linebacker position
for the Warriors defense.

GAME PREVIEW
WARRIORS READY FOR
HOME OPENER
With a win last week, Lima looks to have a repeat
performance versus West Ohio
By

- A 32-9 all-time record at home might signify a home
field advantage.
This
is the history that the Lima Warriors bring into their
home opener this Saturday. With a week of rest under
its belt following a season-opening win, the Ohio
Valley Division leading Warriors opens its five-game
home schedule against the West Ohio Wranglers. The
game will be brought to you by Custom Audio Concepts
and X107.5. Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m. this Saturday,
June 10 at War Memorial Stadium in Ada, Ohio.
The Warriors
beat Southwest Michigan 35-0 on June 3, shutting down the
opponent’s offense all day. The game had the feel of a
post-season game for the Warriors lineman Brock Hartman, but
he knows there is always room for improvement.
“We still
need to work on pass blocking and trying to get Justin
(Henderson, quarterback) protected,” said Hartman.
The Warriors
have never lost a home opener and are trying to extend their
string to six straight years.
“That is a
good goal for us, but we have a lot of work to do,” said
linebacker Jason Bott.
