GAME REVIEW

WARRIORS CLINCH
DIVISION
Warriors defeat
Warthogs 16 to 15 and Clinch Division for Third
Straight Season

ADA
- The Lima Warriors clinched the division title with
their seventh victory in a 16-15 win over the Motor
City Warthogs.
The Warriors
won the Ohio Valley Division in the Eastern Conference
of the Minor League Football Association for the
second straight season in an exciting nail biting
game. The Warriors’ win plus the 12-13 loss by
division rival Fort Wayne Flyers verses Macomb County
Strength sealed the deal.
The Warthogs
had victory in their sight on Saturday night but
Yansey Donald intercepted a pass on the last drive by
the Warthogs to help Lima escape victorious.
“I saw trips
set and decided to go man,” said Donald. “When their
receiver jumped and missed it, the ball fell in my
hands and I took off with it.”
The win
improves the Warriors to 7-1 and atop the division.
Motor City falls to 8-3 with the loss.
The Warriors
got possession and pounded the ball for almost three
minutes on the ground to wear down the Warthogs
defense to end the game.
The Warthogs
struck early in the first quarter on a 50 yard pass
from Donald Adams to James Scott with 11:12 on the
clock. The extra point attempt was blocked by the
Warriors.

The
Lima Warriors return to action at Ada’s War Memorial
Stadium Saturday, July 29 to face the Motor City
Warthogs.
The
(6-1) Warriors look to bounce back after a
controversial 7-0 loss to the Grand Rapids Thunder two
weekends ago.
“The
Thunder game has dwelled on all of our shoulders for a
week now and here is our chance to redeem our pride
and our confidence,” said offensive lineman John
Lance.
The
(8-2) Warthogs are also coming off of a loss to the
Thunder in last Saturday’s 46-31 defeat.
Saturday’s game features a match up of two of the
league’s top defensive teams.
The
Warriors allow an average of three points a game while
the Warthogs are led by some outstanding defensive
players. Zeek Eatmon leads the Eastern Conference
with 66 tackles. Naquito Gross and Daimion Redmond
have combined for 17 interceptions this season.
Warthog’s quarterback Donald Adams leads the passing
attack and threw for 4 touchdowns in the Warthog’s
first nine games.
The
Warriors are comfortably atop the Ohio Valley Division
with a three game lead over the Fort Wayne Flyers,
while the Warthogs are a game behind the Thunder in
the Great Lakes Division.
The
two teams have four common opponents this season in
which the Warthogs gave up 106 points but the Warriors
only gave up 19 in those games.
