"First I want to say thank you and it's an honor," said
Joel Brown when asked about being being inducted into
the Warriors Hall of Fame.
The Lima Warriors' Hall of
Fame is dedicated to past Warriors players, coaches and
staff members who made a great impact on the organization,
on or off the field. They set the example for
current team members to follow.
Joel Brown
started on the offensive line at center and
guard for the Warriors for two seasons ('02-''03).
Not only did he perform like an all-star on the field,
but he was very instrumental behind the scenes in
making the Warriors the great organization that it is
today.
The team
could always count on Joel and his family to help out
with about anything we asked them to do said team
president Brock Hartman. The Brown family was at
every event early to assist setting up and were almost
amongst the last to leave.
"People who
are dedicated like that are hard to find and I don't
think we could have done as well as we did without the
Brown family there during those early years of the
Warriors," added Hartman.
I played for the Warriors just to
see if I could do it again and I never had more fun
than I did when I played said Brown. The Warriors welcomed
me into their family and I gave everything I could. It
wasn't easy being a 36 year old rookie and being
called dad in the huddle but it was fun.
Everyone has differences especially mixing old school with
the kids today, but when I was on the field it didn't matter,
we were a team.
I just want to say thanks to all
you guys for giving me the chance to
play again.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Warriors family and I
can’t wait to start the journey towards the MLFA
championship in 2006.”
