– LIMA, OH -
"I've truly been waiting for this moment for a long
time," said Jeremy Bott when asked about playing on
the same team with his twin brother Jason once again.
Well it's
finally here, the Bott brothers will both be wearing
the Black and Silver, because Jeremy Bott has
committed to playing for the Lima Warriors in 2006.
The last time the two brothers played on the same team
was in 2000 when they both played for the Lima
Thunder.
"Honestly,
the biggest reason why I wanted to play for the
Warriors next season was so I could play with Jason
again," Bott said. "We push each other to the
limit on the field and that makes us both play
better."
Playing
better? You might be thinking to yourself, how
much better can he play? Bott has already in his
career rushed for 1000 yards in a season six times and
has been a 1st Team All-League selection every year he
has played.
"I've seen
him play and I'm excited to have him on our team,"
said head coach John Parkins. "His skills,
experience and leadership will be a great asset to our
team. I also think you will see better play from
him, because when you are surrounded by great players
your level of play naturally steps up a few notches."
Jeremy lives
in Ottawa, Ohio with his newlywed wife, Concha, and
their two daughters, Aneesea and Taylor. When
he's not breaking tackles on the football field he is
a security guard at a rehabilitation center in Lima.
Bott's goals
for the 2006 season are simple, score, score, score.
He said that he is coming to the Warriors with an open
mind and looks forward to playing with a team that is
so well organized and where the players take great
pride in their teamwork.
"I expect to
have to earn my spot on the field," said Bott.
"I am going to strive to do the best I can each game
and I hope I can make something happen, but I'm about
the team and it takes all 11 players on field to move
one yard."
"I still
believe to become a great champion you must learn to
lose first," Bott added. "I've done that and now
it's time to win."
