WARRIORS TO PLAY HOME GAMES IN LIMA STADIUM

The Warriors reach agreement with Lima Senior Athletic Board

By Jeremy Schneider

The Lima News

12/20/06 – LIMA - The area's premiere Semi-Pro Football Team, the Lima Warriors, will start playing their home games at Lima Stadium. Many Van Wert area players are currently on the Lima Warriors Roster, such as Barry Peel, who was a former standout Linebacker for the Parkway Panthers and Van Wert's Kevin Argabright, a former All-Ohio Lineman for the Cougars.

After three years of playing home games in Ada, the Lima Warriors football team has entered an agreement with the Lima City Schools athletic board to play their home dates in Lima Stadium.

The move was at least partially facilitated by the addition of Pro Grass in Lima Stadium.

"This move will allow more fans to experience the great product that we put onto the field each week," Warriors coach John Parkins said in a press release. "The community of Ada has treated us great the last three years, but it feels really good to be playing in Lima again."

Team president John Bell is excited about the sponsorship deals the move to Lima could present. He said the team has been working on some deals already.

"We see this as fulfilling a responsibility to our staff, players and sponsors. This is an opportunity the Warrior organization could not pass up," Bell said.

The Warriors, who play in the United States Football Alliance, open their season in June.
